100 MPG Challenge to begin in Victoria, BC on August 28th

Posted by NRG SVR in 100 MPG Challenge

On Sunday August 28th, Keith Hebert will be heading from Abbotsford to Victoria to officially begin the 100 MPG Challenge.

A group of fellow smart car owners from Club smart car will be getting together for the grand opening of the new smart centre in Victoria at Three Point Motors, 2546 Government Street.

After this event, a convoy of smart cars will go to mile zero with Keith, and then some will even head north to Duncan (home of Canada’s most enlightened parking regulations), as he logs his first of an anticipated 15,000 kilometres over the next 33 days.

Monday will see Keith travel from Nanaimo to the Kelowna area, with brief stops in Vancouver and Abbotsford.

Energy efficiency is definitely the way to go. We save money, reduce our impact on the environment and we can create many more jobs than would be created through the expansion of supply.
Unfortunately, Canadians are a good ten years behind. Europe has had access to 100mpg cars for several years. Interested parties can check out the VW Lupo. VW started producing Lupos in 1999 yet, the news hasn’t made it to this side of the Atlantic.

As we come out of the cooler for a break we need something to warm us up. So Keith could you try and attract a few more bikini clad babes to pose in some of your photos. We know there must be some enviromentally conscious smart ladies out there. And finally, try and get to Quebec before the summer ends, you won’t be dissapointed.
Good luck ! and watch that speeding.
