Enjoyed reading through your journey. I actually have what I consider to be the grandfather to the Smart car, namely an early VW Beetle. Similar 40 HP, similar weight, similar fuel efficiency (for its time that is), and similar charm too! If only the Smart can achieve the production volume enjoyed by the Beetle over the decades that it was in production. I'll be following your journey back west now. I've travelled many of the same highways as far east as Halifax and as far west as Victoria. Here in Calgary, I see lots of Smart cars now. Have a safe trip back...
