la belle province

Posted by NRG SVR in 100 MPG Challenge

I arrived in Quebec yesterday afternoon, and was promptly greeted by Marie de Lotbiniere Harwood, my smart specialist’s mother. Dan Mitchell joined us a moment later, and we were now a trio… heading into Montreal in rush hour craziness. But I love this place!!

After a tour around a few nice areas (and the most expensive postal code in Canada), we took in a meal at Hurley’s Irish Pub on Crescent Street. Dan’s wife Kathryn and Marie’s brother Paul Harwood (of Mahogany Rush fame) joined us. A most unusual vehicle parked behind my smart, which prompted some picture taking by Dan and myself. The Renault Avantime belongs to a French Diplomat.

After Hurleys and some map making, I took a GPS-aided tour of Montreal. (I have no idea where I was, but I made it to Marie’s eventually!)

I’m planning some of my travel and accomodations over the next few days. My plans are still to take the sailing with Relais-Nordik from Blanc-Sablon, and then drive the 138 from Natashquan through Sept-Iles and Baie-Comeau to Quebec City in 10 days time. Tonight will see me in NB (possibly Hartland now), Saturday in PEI, and Sunday in NS.

I’ll be returning to Montreal on Sept 20th for an entire day and evening after spending the 19th in Quebec City. I’m very excited about this.
