Tales from topographic oceans
There was evening, and then morning, and then evening again. Where’d the day go?
I’ve arrived in the outskirts of St Johns as of 11:00 pm Newfoundland time. The sailing was 15 hours long and uneventful. The only weird thing was waking up around 10 am in my chair to hear someone on TV talking about climate change and greenhouse gases. It took a minute, but I figured out it was a movie.
I did meet a new friend as I neared Argentia. Gordon Simmons of Paradise, NF was returning from Toronto with a used 1998 Jetta TDI that he bought for $3500. He flew there to pick it up. Good deal considering diesel here is the most expensive I’ve ever seen.

BTW - guess what colour the Jetta is?
I’m staying at Gordon’s place. He’s got 7 cats and 2 dogs.
And guess what his favourite cat’s name is? :-)
It’s now 1:15 am, and I have to be up at 7:00, so just a few calls to make and then I’m snoozing. 15 minutes or so to downtown St Johns - John has some things lined up, but I’ve no idea yet what exactly.
